Pruning
Once you have your dream garden you want to look after it and we can help provide the help and advice you need. We specialise in all aspects of pruning and plant training. It is important that all pruning and training work is carried out at the right time of the year. This may be the renovation of an old garden favorite or the training of a new rose. All of the work is carried out using traditional hand tools using tried and trusted methods.
Teaching
We can also teach you how to maintain your own garden. This could involve a visit to your garden where we will guide you on how to prune your own fruit trees, shrubs or anything you were ever afraid to touch. We can show you the right tools and techniques to avoid costly mistakes

This is a narrow border 15m x 10m created on rocky ground five years ago. The objective was to create a visual and physical barrier and form a private and public space within the one garden. The plan was to have a solid evergreen hedge to form the backdrop for a lush perennial border which has lots of seasonal interest. The hedge chosen is Yew and is planted in a slight curve. The top of the hedge will also have a curved top in time and this is slowly taking shape. The planting is a mix of bulbs for spring colour and perennials all through the year plus grasses for movement and winter interest. I visit this garden in the early summer each year to prepare it for the year ahead and these images show the progression over these five years.
